ABOUT FACE Camp was established in September of 1998 in Conover, North Carolina.
Its mission is to instill self-control, self-confidence, and to build self-esteem through a regimented para-military system, which provides the opportunity for the students to develop positive, responsible behavior. It is a privately-owned program for the general public.
This camp is Christian oriented and offers attendants an opportunity to grow in that direction should they desire.
The success of the camp has been a direct result of its ability to provide a service to the public that does not exist anywhere else.

Important Notices:
1.Due to concerns for other camp attendees, ABOUT FACE request that children not be sent who have been diagnosed as Bi-Polar or children with ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder). We do not feel our program is appropriate to benefit those type of campers
2.We can not accept into any North Carolina based camp any child who meets this legal definition:
"A juvenile who, while less than 16 years of age but at least 6 years of age, is unlawfully absent from school; or is regularly disobedient to and beyond the disciplinary control of the juvenile's parent, guardian, or custodian; or is regularly found in places where it is unlawful for a juvenile to be; or has run away from home for a period of more than 24 hours"
